Save Generations Organization funded by Kvinna Til Kvinna, is kicking off the phase one 2 days training of raising awareness on laws and policies especially safe abortion law and child protection law to SGO staff and community peer educators who work with SGO on the SRHR project in Gasabo and Kamonyi Districts aiming at building their capacity and create enabling and supportive environment for adolescents to access SRHR information and knowledge and claiming their rights for making informed decisions over their bodies.
This awareness raising has the objective of increasing knowledge to right holders, teachers, parents on laws and policies related to SRHR and child rights enabling favorable environment to access SRHR information and prevention of child abuse.
These are series of trainings aiming to make awareness on existing laws and policies related to SRHR and child rights, to increase knowledge on laws and policies related to SRHR and child rights to 480 right holders in different category and phases including 40 SGO staff & community peer educators who work with SGO on the SRHR project, 80 parents, 40 teachers and school managers hence increasing awareness on laws and policies in line with health including Safe abortion provisions and Child protection law in order to reduce negative perception towards the law.

In her opening remarks, the Executive Director of Save Generations Organization Madam Yvette Nyinawumuntu welcomed the trainees & informed them that “Having right information & knowledge in what we do is key hence this will help you raise awareness on the laws to others.
Izere MUGENI, the training facilitator Provided knowledge to the SGO Staff and community peer educators about the origin of laws and policies including Safe abortion provisions and Child protection law.
Me. Steven GATARI the training co-facilitator also provided practical Knowledge on different Laws & policies in line with health including Abortion related provisions to SGO staff & peer educators from Gasabo & Kamonyi Districts.
After the training the trainees were grouped in different group and they were given assignments to work and present on day 2.
