Save Generations Organization with the support of Plan International Rwanda is conducting 2 community awareness campaigns on SRHR issues faced by adolescents (one campaign per sector) in Kamabuye and Ngeruka sector. The campaign aim at increasing community engagement and response to SRHR issues facing adolescents and young people hence challenging negative perceptions towards SRHR for promotion of a friendly environment for adolescents and young people so that they may fully enjoy their SRH and Rights. Community members and leaders will support, mobilize and engaged in changing beliefs and gender norms issues faced by adolescent and young people on SRHR for right decisions and choices over their bodies.
The abjectives of this activity is to increase community engagement in response to SRHR issues facing adolescents and young people hence challenging negative perceptions towards SRHR for promotion of a friendly supportive environment for adolescents and young people.
- To increase community engagement in response to SRHR issues facing adolescents and young people.
- To raise awareness on the existing SRHR issues faced by adolescents and young people caused by lack of information and services that result to increased teen pregnancies, STIs eg HIV, SGBV and others.
- To increase access to SRHR information and services to adolescents and young people in the community to enable them make informed decisions and actions against their bodies.
- To challenge the existing community negative perceptions including social norms, cultural and religious beliefs around adolescents and young people’s SRHR.
